Duo Live Performance — The Sound Kaleidoscope

[Fondation des Etats-Unis, Paris, France]. As part of the 5th Floor Scholar Series, EiMO joined pianist Jonathan Bass (Fulbright France–HHW Scholar) for The Sound Kaleidoscope, an evening of piano and live painting at the Fondation des États-Unis, Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris.

Painting in real time to Jonathan Bass's playing, EiMO turned the music into gesture and colour on the canvas — a synesthetic dialogue in which sound became colours and each mark answered a phrase of the piano.

I paint what I hear: the concert and the canvas are made in the same, unrepeatable moment.
